Salone de Bella Will Brighten Your Hair and Your Day

Michelle Savino has purchased Marilyn's and fully renovated the salon for a March 31 opening.

Few things in life make a woman feel instantly better, but interview 100 of them and chances are many would say a good haircut and color are among the top ten.

Michelle Savino loves the instant gratification of being an hair stylist, and will be opening her salon, Salone de Bella next Saturday.

Savino recently purchased Marilyn’s, located at 416 Washington Street,  and is in the midst of a major transformation that will bring the salon up-to-date and ready for business.

“I renovated the whole place,” Savino said. “This is a big change for the town. We will be a full service hair salon. I am a color specialist. We will also do smoothing treatments, which removes frizz from hair and adds keratin making the hair shinier and healthier. I hope to attract all types of clients - women, men  and kids. We want to be a salon for the whole family.”

Salone de Bella will also offer a full line of hair care products including a fully vegan line called Pureology.

“Many people are more than just vegetarians now,” Savino said. “We want to be aware of our clients needs.”

Savino has been an hair stylist for several years, and is excited about being in her hometown.

“One of the reasons for wanting to open a salon in town is that my kids go to school here,“ Savino said. “My husband grew up here. And it is great to be right in town if my kids need me.”

Savino is well known in town for her fancy ride, and is happy to say that her salon represents her funky, fun personality.

“I went to art school and know how color affects people,” Savino said. “I went with purple and green for the interior of the salon because they are neutral colors. Anyone who knows me in town is aware of my personality and my flower covered van. I wanted my salon to be bright, colorful and fun.”

Salone de Bella, which will open on Saturday, March 31, will be open Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins will be welcome and appointments are accepted.

“Our prices are competitive,” Savino said. “From full color to caps, to waxing, to a hair cut and blow dry, we do it all.”
