The Satipatthana Sutta is Buddha's most comprehensive teaching on mindfulness as a direct path to liberation. It introduces the techniques commonly used in mindfulness meditation today.
The Buddha declares at the beginning of this discourse:
"This is the direct way monks, for the purification of beings, for the overcoming of sorrow and lamentation, for the extinguishing of suffering and grief, for walking on the path of truth, for the realization of nibbāna...."
Learn what the Buddha said about the first of the four mindfulness foundations, mindfulness of the body, in this workshop. We will discuss the contents of the discourse and also practice some of the techniques taught by the Buddha in this discourse.
