Funds raised will benefit grants for community programs.

In conjunction with local area sponsors, the Holliston Newcomers Club (HNC) is announcing its 2nd Annual 10K Road Race on May 20.  This race will become the major spring fundraiser event for HNC as well as a family-friendly town event in Holliston.

The profits from this event will fund the HNC’s annual grant awards.  Each year, the Holliston Newcomers Club provides grants to local organizations that give back to the community.  Over the years, grants have been used to support the Holliston Pantry Shelf, Senior Center, Police and Fire Departments, and Council for the Arts, among many others.

As the spring road race season approaches with many 5K races to choose from, the HNC 10K is offering a longer distance alternative to attract runners looking for a certified course through scenic Holliston.

The road race is set for Sunday, May 20, with a 9 a.m. start time.  The race will be promoted in local media outlets and running publications.  Following the race, winners will be drawn for a raffle for a brand new bicycle, generously donated by Landry’s Bicycles, and for a pair of Red Sox tickets.
