Jonathan Landman named Hopkinton School Superintendent

School Committee chooses seasoned educator who has worked in Belmont, Brookline, Acton-Boxborough, Randolph and at Boston Latin Academy

The Hopkinton School Committee named Dr. Jonathan Landman the new Superintendent of Schools in Hopkinton.

 "The School Committee has unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Jonathan Landman as their next Superintendent of Schools," School Committee Chairwoman Rebecca Robak said.  

“We are excited about having Dr. Landman join our district," Robak said. She said Landman and the committee still have to negoitiate a contract.

Landman will meet the public at a forum on Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in the Hopkinton High School Auditorium. 

School Committee members and schools staff were especially struck by Landman's energy, enthusiasm and vision during his visit to Hopkinton, Robak said.

Landman holds a doctorate in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, a Master of Arts in Teaching History and Social Studies from Tufts University in Medford, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brandeis University in Waltham.

He will finish this school year as the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning for Randolph Public Schools.

Landman has previously served as the Principal of Belmont High School, and was Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Community Education for the Acton Public and Acton/Boxborough Regional School Districts.

He began his career as a social studies teacher at Boston Latin Academy and in the Brookline school system.
