New TV Horror Series to be Set in Holliston

Hollywood director who grew up in Holliston is using it as inspiration for a frightening new series.

A new horror-genre TV show, set in the borders of Holliston, will make it's debut this spring, turning the quiet New England town into a gory sitcom.

"Holliston" is the newest project of Adam Green, a producer of horror films who spent his childhood in the town he is naming his show after, according to the Boston Globe.

John Paltrineri, owner of , said Green recently visited his shop to reminisce and ask permission to film the building's exterior.

"I went up to them and said 'you either grew up here or you haven't been in a store like this for a long time,'" Paltrineri said. "They said I was right on both accounts."

Film crews had been taking images of Holliston when Green stopped into Fiske's, a store he had visited many times in his childhood, Paltrineri said.

Scheduled to debut on FEARnet in the spring, Green told the Boston Globe "Holliston" would be a sitcom where "at any moment, someone’s head could explode."

"You don't usually equate Holliston with horror, but that's probably part of the draw," Paltrineri said.

The director, known for slasher films such as "Frozen" and "Hatchet" told the Boston Globe "I loved every second that I had in Holliston, and I genuinely do miss it."
