Poll: Is the World Safer a Year After Osama Bin Laden?

Is the world safe from terrorism a year after Osama Bin Laden's death?

A year ago, Osama Bin Laden was found in a Pakistani complex and was killed by U.S. Navy Seals.

But according to the Boston Herald, Pakistan still harbors some of America's biggest enemies.

"What is striking, say analysts, is how little has changed in Pakistan a year after U.S. special forces burst into a large house in Abbottabad... and shot bin Laden dead," the article says.

What do you think? Are you any safer from terrorism a year after Bin Laden's death?

Take our poll, and tell us what you think in the comments below.

One year after Bin Laden’s death and over 10 years since 9/11, American citizens are still blindly allowing their civil liberties to be taken away one piece of legislation at a time. How much freedom are we willing to sacrifice to feel safe? Under the guise of fighting terrorism, the Patriot Act was adopted WITHOUT public approval or vote just weeks after the twin towers fell. These laws are simply a means to spy on our own citizens and to detain and torture dissidents without trial or a right to council. You can read much more about living in this Orwellian society of fear and see my visual response to these measures on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/09/living-in-society-of-fear-ten-years.html

The bravery and courage of our fine men & women in uniform says it all. If you choose to to attack and inflict pain, suffering, violence on the American people or peace loving members of the world community then please take note. We WILL track you down, we WILL find you and yes, we WILL kill you. The American people( I did not say government ) do not go looking for a fight, but if a fight is inflicted upon us, we will protect ourselves, our families, our nation and other freedom loving people. The world is a better and safer place without Bin Laden, and his surrogates and followers should take note of his demise and failure at the hands of the US military.

Personally quite a few think "Osama bin Dead" for ten years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODCCXIJgFLY http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=35144 This whole thing is a big fraud. They say they buried him at sea. A move that would outrage his religious followers. My two cents: According to the recent TIME magazine front cover and the article about his killing. They say they killed Osama, OK, then you did what any uncivilized country would have done. You claim to be the most Democratic country in the world, yet this Osama wasn't given a trial and you MURDERED him in cold blood. He wasn't armed. According to the TIME article. So in conclusion: President Obama and company had a man MURDERED in cold blood. The people surrounding Obama and his Cabinet should be put on trial for MURDER. I am embarrassed that I live in this country at times. You wonder why most of the world hates America. Joe Rizoli

If you are embarrassed to live in this country. Leave. No country or government is perfect, they all make mistakes and have misguided agenda's at time. Perhaps you should watch Act of Valor. Seal Team Six puts there lives on the line everyday to try and keep or country safe. Are they perfect, no, do they try and do the right thing, yes. Look at the credits at the end, all the fine young men & women who have died. It's a safer place......tell the friends and families of the 9/11 victims.....and the friends and families of the military that its not. Then leave for somewhere else safer, because you are embarrassed.
