Hopkinton Votes for School Committee Candidates, Ballot Questions
Get ready to go to the polls, voters!
The town election in Hopkinton is scheduled for Monday, May 19, and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There is only one competitive election – the race for School Committee. Three candidates – Kelly Knight, Lori Nickerson, and Frank Sivo – are running for two seats.
All the other races are non-competitive.

Voters will also make a decision on two Proposition 2 1/2 ballot questions.
Question 1 is an “underride,” requesting voters to approve of a reduction in the town’s levy limit of $1.25 million.

Question 2 is a debt exclusion proposal. Voters are being asked to increase taxes by $6.25 million to renovate and expand the library. The project, slated to cost nearly $12 million, will also receive $4.5 million in grant funding. It was recently approved by Town Meeting.
