Junior Rifle Club

The primary activity of the Holliston Sportsmen's Association Junior Division is Junior Rifle Club. Each year from October to March youngsters from age twelve to sixteen, under very close adult supervision learn the fundamentals of firearm safety and marksmanship.

Each season starts with classroom teaching of the basic rules of firearm safety. After the rules are mastered, youngsters move to the indoor range. The club supplies single shot bolt-action .22 caliber target rifles, ammunition, and targets.

Young shooters start by shooting from the prone position at fifty feet. From here students move onto sitting, kneeling and standing positions.
