Today is the first day of the fundraising event, "WAAF’s Rise Up Against Hunger," which will run through Friday, Dec. 13. WAAF on-air personalities Lyndon "LB" Byers - a Holliston resident - and Anthony "Spaz" Parziale will 'Rise Up' on lifts, where they will live on a platform suspended high in the sky for three full days in an effort to raise funds for The Greater Boston, Worcester County and New Hampshire Food Banks.

Beginning at 6 am today (Dec. 11), LB will 'rise up' on a lift located outside the Greater Boston Food Bank at 70 South Bay Avenue in Boston, where he will remain on a small platform, overlooking I-93 South, until 7 pm on December 13.

Spaz will do the same, rising up against hunger in Framingham, where he will live six stories in the air for three days above The British Beer Company, located at 120 Worcester Rd. Listeners are encouraged to visit LB and Spaz during the three days they are up in the sky and make a donation to "WAAF’s Rise Up Against Hunger" campaign.

For more than two decades, the station’s personalities have enlisted themselves in various physically challenging stunts in an effort to engage listeners to support area food banks.

"WAAF is proud to partner with the food banks for this annual holiday season fundraiser. We’re asking our listeners to 'Rise Up Against Hunger' again, as they have generously done so many times in the past," said WAAF Program Director Ron Valeri. "Any amount is appreciated as we set our sights on exceeding last year’s donations of over $80,000 dollars."

To raise additional funds for the food banks, WAAF Morning Man Greg Hill will encourage listeners to show their support for the cause over the three days, not only during his show but on-air with fellow WAAF personalities Mike Hsu and Mistress Carrie during their respective shows.

Complete details, including information on donating to "WAAF’s Rise Up Against Hunger" are available on the station’s website, www.waaf.com. To donate via phone, call the "Rise Up" hotline at (617) 787-3481 or to donate $10 via text, text "WAAF" to the "Rise Up" text line: 20222.
