Grey's Anatomy

The textbook case is a model of grace and agility.

Greyhounds are naturally tall, lean, athletic dogs. They range in weight from 50 to 85 pounds and height from 23 to 30 inches measured at the shoulder. Females tend to be smaller than males. They are a healthy breed and can live up to 12 to 15 years. As a lean animal, greyhounds are strictly indoor pets. They do not have sufficient body fat to protect them from the extreme cold; a coat for outdoors is warranted for winter weather.

Their deep, dark eyes can see half a mile away. Greyhounds are sight hounds and were bred to hunt by sight and not by smell. The nose is put to good use nudging their owner. Sammie is a sweet 8-year old girl who was brought to Greyhound Friends when her owner could no longer care for her due to illness. She is a healthy dog who warms up quickly to new people and needs to get back into a permanent home where she will be a loving companion.

Greyhound Friends, Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, dedicated to saving racetrack greyhounds and placing them in responsible, loving homes.
