Update: The Middlesex District Attorney's Office has identified the boy killed as Shayne Desroches.
Original Story: Wednesday afternoon a 13-year-old boy was struck and killed while riding his bike on Route 85, according to Stephanie Guyotte, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Marian T. Ryan.
The accident happened at approximately 5 p.m. with the driver staying at the scene, she said. The boy — whose identity has not been released — was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a report from Boston.com.
Guyotte said that the investigation is ongoing and it is unclear whether there will be any charges.
