Bulger Trial: Stephen Flemmi Testifies Body Buried in Hopkinton

The Bulger associate said Tuesday he helped bury a body near a Hopkinton gun club. The Hopkinton Sportsman's Association grounds were searched a decade ago.

A grisly connection between Hopkinton and the Winter Hill crime gang of mobster Whitey Bulger is once again being alleged.

In testimony about noon Tuesday, Bulger associate Steve Flemmi said he helped bury a body at a gun club in Hopkinton, according to a live blog on Boston.com.

The body was never found, although FBI officials oversaw digging at the Hopkinton Sportsman's Club in 2001.

According to his testimony, at U.S. District Court in South Boston, the body in Hopkinton was one of the Bennett brothers, one in a string of murders attributed to Bulger.
