By the Numbers: Police Community Survey

Over the summer, the Holliston Police Department began collecting resident feedback on a variety of topics, as Chief John Moore begins a five-year strategic planning process designed to ensure resources are being applied in the way the community wants and needs. 

Here's some data on the survey process so far. 

400: Approximate total number of survey needed to achieve target goal of 10 percent response rate based on number of households in Holliston. 

325: Total survey responses collected to date as of early September. 

250: Number of electronic survey responses collected online. 

75: The number of hand-written survey responses the department has collected, many of them from the National Night out Block party event. 

16: Total number of questions on the survey.  

5: The number of years covered by the strategic plan the survey will help shape. 

3: Number of open-ended questions on the survey that seek respondent feedback beyond a single click. 

2: The number of in-depth forums the department plans to hold with residents, community leaders and other stakeholders as it further shapes its strategic plan. 

1:  Number of clicks it takes to get to the survey from the HPD Website. 

0: Number of truly negative responses to date, according to Moore. "People want us to do more in some areas, but the responses have been very positive," he said.
