Domestic Violence in Focus After Murder-Suicide

A husband and wife with no public history of domestic violence were found dead this morning.

When a coworker of Todd Vogel found, police and the Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene.

According to Police Chief Richard Flannery, the couple didn't have a history of domestic violence, but the police had responded to several other disturbances at the house, including parties.

District Attorney Gerry Leone said the impact of this incident is unfortunate and far-reaching.

“This is an extreme case of marital domestic violence that resulted today in a husband murdering his wife and killing himself,” Leone said. “Domestic violence is a complicated and complex dynamic that has a far reaching affect within our communities and amongst the friends and families within them."

There haven't been any deaths resulting from domestic violence in Hopkinton in a number of years, but just this past weekend .
