Drunk Driver Arrested After Leaving Crash Scene, Police Say

Friday, July 12

8:14 a.m.: Officers responded to a crash on West Main Street. No injuries were reported but one car was towed.

7:00 p.m.: Several people called 911 to report a resident of Chestnut Street playing loud music, yelling and threatening people. Officers responded and spoke with the man.

11:44 p.m.: A caller from Glenn Road reported that a neighbor was playing loud music. An officer responded and spoke with the homeowner who had a DJ playing earlier in the day.

8:57 a.m.: A caller from Exchange Street reported a pile of phone books dumped on the side of the road. Officers took a report to contact the Yellow Phone Book Company on Monday.

4:14 p.m.: The Massachusetts State Police Department was notified of a dog running loose on Route 495.

6:51 p.m.: A homeowner on Lakeshore Drive was contacted to have partygoers at the house move their cars out of the road.

9:59 p.m.: A caller reported an erratic operator on Main Street who hit something then continued driving. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested Cheryl A. Hanley, 51, of 169 West Central St., Franklin. Hanley was charged with speeding, leaving the scene of property damage, drunken driving, reckless operation and marked lanes violation.

Sunday, July 14

3:48 a.m.: A resident called to reported people setting up a tent on the town common. An officer informed the caller that the tent was a meeting place for runners involved in a relay.

7:30 a.m.: A construction crew working at Elmwood School was stopped for violating the town’s construction bylaw.

8:26 a.m.: Officers assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with an alarm on Courtney Circle.

10:48 a.m.: A trailer left at the boat ramp on Wood Street was towed.

11:30 a.m.: A caller reported suspicious teens running and jumping into a Jeep parked awkwardly on Wood Street. The Jeep left the area.

1:49 p.m.: Officers assisted the Upton Police Department track down possibly drunk jet skiers on Lake Maspenock.

2:22 p.m.: A caller reported wires down on North Mill Street.

5:52 p.m.: One person was hospitalized after a car vs. motorcycle crash on Hayden Rowe Street.

5:33 p.m.: An officer assisted the Massachusetts State Police at Hopkinton State Park.

9:05 p.m.: A caller from Lakeshore Drive reported a possible break-in in progress. Officers responded and spoke to the person who had plans to be at the house.

9:19 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street with a dog left inside.
