Holliston Police Log: Fistfight at the Fatima Shrine

The following information was provided by the Holliston Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, June 30

9:41 a.m.: A motorist reported a road hazard on Lowland Street, saying the previous road work was collapsing. An officer checked and found the road was passable. NStar was notified.

10:08 a.m.: A domestic dispute was reported at Fatima Shrine. A caller said two women were fist-fighting in the parking lot. One of the women walked away, toward Route 16. Police responded, and found the woman who walked away at the Village Plaza. Police arrested Jean Hayes, 49, of 61 Gregory RD., Framingham, on charges of assault and battery on a child with injury, and assault and battery on a disabled person, with injury. A sergeant said the assault relating to the child happened when the child got in the middle of the two women.

5:41 p.m.: A passerby on Baker Street said a father was yelling at a small child. An officer was unable to locate the man.

8:17 p.m.: A detail officer at Holliston High School observed a man who had a restraining order against him with the person involved. Police arrested John V Hayes, 38, of 481 Main St., Milford, on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.

Monday, July 1

9:31 a.m.: Police stopped an erratic driver on Washington Street. Police gave the driver a verbal warning.

6:19 p.m.: A caller said her 18-year-old son would not return a cell phone. The situation was resolved before police arrived at the home.

11:55 p.m.: A person reported suspicious activity: three people were walking with flashlights on Indian Circle.

Tuesday, July 2

7:14 a.m.: Suspicious activity was reported. A man said his neighbor is away from home and a paving crew just showed up at her house. An officer spoke with the crew.

7:42 a.m.: A crash was reported at Lowland Street and Jeffrey Avenue. Police requested an ambulance.

11:03 a.m.: A resident found a loose bullet in the area of the bridge on Woodland Street.

2:04 p.m.: Officers assisted Hopkinton Police, who were responding to a report of gunshots in that town.

Wednesday, July 3

6:13 a.m.: A woman reported her Jeep missing. It was possibly related to divorce proceedings. Police left messages with her husband.

7:17 a.m.: A loose brown and white dog was reported.

7:27 a.m.: A resident of South Street asked police to help remove someone from the house. The person left once police were called.

7:39 a.m.: A contractor on Mohawk Path said several fuel caps were broken and gasoline taken from equipment overnight.

10:08 p.m.: Police removed a small party from the beach at Stoddard Park.
