Hopkinton Fire Department to Host Open House

Learn about fire prevention and meet Sparky the dog.

As a little, or big kid, there is nothing more fun than seeing some great machines up close and learning how trained professionals do their jobs.

The Hopkinton Fire Department will be opening their doors on Oct. 6 for their Annual Open House to allow you to do just that.

The event at Fire Headquarters will be from 11am to 2pm. Residents and children will have the opportunity to view demonstrations, learn about fire safety, and tour the station. Refreshments will be provided and Sparky the dog is expected to make an appearance.
The Open House provides an opportunity for firefighters to focus on the educational theme of Fire Prevention week. This year’s theme is “Prevent Kitchen Fires”. Firefighter’s will be spreading the word that more fires start in the kitchen than in any other part of the home – and help teach people how to keep cooking fires from starting in the first place.
