Hopkinton Man Gets Two Years for Stabbing Worcester Policeman

The 30-year-old man was convicted of stabbing the officer in the thumb with a hypodermic needle.

A Hopkinton man found guilty of stabbing a Worcester police officer with a hypodermic needle has been sentenced to two years in state prison, says a story on MassLive.com

Brad D. Hamilton, 30, was convicted of stabbing the officer in the thumb as he was arrested in the bathroom of a Price Chopper grocery store, the Telegram & Gazette reports.

Officer Ryan Stone did not suffer any long-term medical problems as a result of the June 2012 attack, a Worcester County District Attorney spokesman told the newspaper.

Hamilton was found guilty not of intentionally stabbing the officer, the Telegram reported, but of willful, wanton or reckless conduct resulting in personal injury to another.
