Hopkinton Police Log: Interfering Vehicles, Confused Driver

The following information was provided by the Hopkinton Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 27

1:05 a.m.: The DPW reported a motor vehicle on Huckleberry Road was hindering snow removal. The vehicle was ticketed and Ted's was called to tow the vehicle.

107 a.m.: A motor vehicle on Huckleberry Road was hindering snow removal. The car was ticketed and the owner was contacted and said the car would be removed.

1:09 a.m.: A motor vehicle on White Street was ticketed because of the parking ban.

10:24 a.m.: A resident of Lincoln Street reported someone had been dumping trash at the end of the dead end street. Police were able to locate a name and were going to be contacting the person.

6:41 p.m.: Police assisted Southborough Police with a domestic in their town.

Friday, Dec. 28

4:14 p.m.: The owner of an office on Church Street reported a car in the parking lot was running with the operator sleeping or passed out. Police spoke with the occupant, who was resting before work.

4:30 p.m.: A woman went to the Police Department to request to use the phone to call California. She then ran from the lobby. Police spoke to the party and she was all set.

4:50 p.m. A motorist advised an elderly woman dressed in dark clothing was shoveling snow in the roadway on Grove Street. Police checked and did not find the woman.

Saturday, Dec. 29

4:15 p.m.: Police received a report of an outdoor fire at a construction site on Lumber Street. The construction crew was burning scrap; the Fire Department extinguished the fire.

7:29 p.m. to 8:08 p.m.: Police received several calls about motor vehicle crashes and disabled vehicles.

8:10 p.m.: A caller reported a man was walking up and down Huckleberry Road looking into vehicles as he passed them. Police checked the area and did not find anyone out walking.

8:35 p.m.: A resident reported a vehicle had driven into a tree on Saddle Hill Road. The occupant was out walking around; arrangements were made for a tow.

9 p.m. to 10:10 p.m.: Highway reported multiple vehicles in the road were interfering with snow removal.

Sunday, Dec. 30

12:05 a.m. to 1:32 a.m.: Highway reported multiple vehicles parked in the street that were interfering with snow removal.

12:26 p.m.: A caller reported an injured deer in his driveway on Clinton Street.

3:49 p.m.: Police received a 911 call from a resident reporting they found a large barrel partially submerged in the pond behind the condos at Walcott Valley. The caller said there was a substance in the pond that appeared to be oil. The Fire Department was notified and would be investigating.

8:46 p.m.: Police took a 911 call transferred from State Police, who were looking for assistance because of a domestic dispute. Police took a person into protective custody on Walcott Street.

11:38 a.m.: A caller reported a man was walking around her backyard on Clinton Street before getting into his vehicle and then driving into her neighbor's driveway. Police located the vehicle as it was backing out, and spoke to the operator. He had chosen the wrong driveway twice.
