Hopkinton Police Log: Man Arrested After Crashing Onto Lawn

The following information was provided by the Hopkinton Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Jan 22

12:26 a.m.: An officer checked a car on West Main Street. The driver had dropped change on the ground and was picking it up.

7:32 a.m.: A driver crashed on Wood Street. The driver was unable to open the doors to the car.

2:07 p.m.: A resident of Cedar Street reported that her mailbox had been vandalized.

2:28 p.m.: A resident of West Main Street went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to report that someone had attempted to light their car on fire.

9:00 p.m.: An NStar worker reported that while he was inside Price Chopper someone had went in to his truck and was looking through it. The NStar worker reported that he spoke to the man who took off on foot. An officer responded and spoke to the man who told a “long story” before being taken in to protective custody.

9:37 p.m.: A car crashed onto the front lawn of a house on Pine Island Road. The driver, Matthew Provencal, 35, of 16 Lyons St., Putnam CT was arrested and charged with drunken driver.
