Hopkinton Police Log: Home Break-in, Marijuana Violation

Thursday, Jan. 31
4:00 a.m.: A caller from Chamberlain Street reported that her doorbell rang twice. The caller said she believed the ring was weather related, but requested a check just in case.
8:13 a.m.: Verizon was contacted after an 8-inch wire was found lying across Ash Street.

9:36 a.m.: A tree was removed from Downey Street.
10:25 a.m.: NStar responded to a tree wire on the wires on Knoll Road.

10:54 a.m.: A caller from Hazel Road reports suspicious activity related to a recent house break in. The suspicious people in question were Jehovah’s Witnesses.
3:05 p.m.: Officers from the Hopkinton Police Department took a report of a break-in on Fruit Street.
Friday, Feb. 1
8:54 a.m.: An officer assisted a driver after he ran out of gas between Route 495 and the West Main Street gas stations.
4:54 p.m.: The Hopkinton Fire Department responded to a fire on Grove Street that had been started by a contractor and was reportedly unsafe.
6:17 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Wood Street and issued a verbal warning for a marked lanes violation.
Saturday, Feb. 2
1:35 a.m.: Jack Z. Walker, 42, of 43 Leland St., Grafton was arrested after a traffic stop on West Main Street. Walker was charged with drunken-driving.
12:16 p.m.: A caller reported that a driver cut them off on West Main Street and then threw something out of him.
1:59 p.m.: A 911 caller from Pond Street reported that their pellet stove had filled the house with smoke.
4:02 p.m.: A caller reported a fox on Main Street. An officer could not locate the vehicle.
5:26 p.m.: Justin R. Kopec, 25, of 60 Front St. was arrested on Main Street and charged with failure to stop for police.
10:15 p.m.: A caller reported that their house on Gassett Road was egged.
Sunday, Feb. 3
12:08 a.m.: A caller from Priscilla Road reported that her daughter’s car had been egged.
12:30 a.m.: An officer found a stop sign in the back of a truck parked on Hayden Rowe Street.
9:35 a.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported two intruders inside their house. Officers responded but there were no intruders in the residence.
10:47 p.m.: Officers issued a ticket to a person for marijuana possession on Hayden Rowe Street.
