Hopkinton Police Log: Suspicious Man With Suitcase, Rollover on Wood Street

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Friday, Nov. 30

8:57 a.m.: A car on Main Street struck a bicyclist. The bicyclist refused medical treatment.

2:10 p.m.: A female was detained by loss prevention at Price Chopper for shoplifting. Officers responded and arrested Kathleen A. Serkins, 44, of 51 Elm St. Serkins was charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

3:53 p.m.: A caller from Sylvan Way said she could hear hunters shooting nearby in the woods and worried they were too close to her house. An officer responded and said it could have sounded louder because there were no leaves on the trees.

9:17 p.m.: An officer had several vehicles at the Middle School moved after a person complained about their parking.

7:40 a.m.: Officers responded to a 911 call for a roll over on Wood Street. One person was trapped inside the vehicle but did not need any medical treatment.

8:37 p.m.: A stone wall on School Street was damaged after a vehicle crashed into it.

Saturday, Dec. 1

2:06 p.m.: A car hit a telephone pole on West Main Street. The operator was given a ride home and was not injured.

11:26 p.m.: A caller from Forest Lane reported a dog barking in the area. An officer responded and did not hear the dog. Twenty minutes later the same caller asked to speak with an officer about the dog barking.

Monday, Dec. 3

5:56 a.m.: A deer was found dead on West Main Street.

1:44 p.m.: Officers spoke to a male on D.J. Murphy Lane after a mail carrier reported that the male had left a residence with a suitcase and waited on the corner. The man had left his house and was waiting for a friend.

6:21 p.m.: An officer took a report of a hit and run crash on West Main Street.
