Hopkinton Police Log: Three Girls, 17, Lost in the Woods at Night

Thursday, Aug. 15

1:09 a.m.: State Police relayed a call from three 17-year-old girls, who got lost in the woods off Crockett Road in Upton, but thought they had wandered into Hopkinton. The girls had been lost for three hours at that point. Police called the girls on the cell phone and kept them talking, while they blasted sirens to determine their general location. The girls were found at 3:04 a.m. and reunited with their parents.

8:12 a.m.: A resident called police to relay his displeasure at the traffic happening at the Mass DOT bridge work on the Southborough line.

12:32 p.m.: A caller reported a lost, wandering poodle on Church Street.

3:23 p.m.: A woman at Ashland State Park reported someone was taking pictures of her and her daughter, and threatening to post them on the internet. The woman was in the Ashland jurisdiction, so Ashland Police were responding.

5:10 p.m.: A motorist reported a large muffler was in the road on South Street. Police responded but found it had been pulled to the side and was no longer a hazard.

9:33 p.m.: A caller reported a barking dog on Morse Lane. Officer responded and found no evidence of a barking dog.
