Hopkinton Police Log: Two Arrests, Late Night Longboarder

Thursday, Aug. 30

3:15 a.m.: A caller reported a woman screaming at her neighbor’s house on Cross Street. An officer spoke to the woman who was upset about an earlier incident and helped her calm down.

8:07 a.m.: A resident of Rocky Woods Road requested to speak to an officer about continued mailbox vandalism.

10:58 a.m.: A caller from Church Street reported that her coon hound dog had run away. It was later found on Ash Street.

12:58 p.m.: A caller from Hillcrest Road reported a white van in a neighboring driveway. An officer responded and spoke to the two men in the van who were working with a bank.

1:38 p.m.: A caller from Hayward Street asked to speak to an officer about vandalism.

2:23 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash on West Main Street. No injuries were reported, but one vehicle was towed.

3:40 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash on Main Street. No injuries were reported.

6:56 p.m.: A caller reported that it appeared as if someone was trying to climb in to the windows at the Woodville Post Office and Fire Department. Officers checked the area to make sure it was secure.

7:07 p.m.: A caller from Teresa Road reported that someone had shot a hole in her sliding glass door.

10:32 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a fight over a dog on Fruit Street.

Friday, Aug. 21

12:34 a.m.: Officers stopped a vehicle on Grove Street and arrested Thomas Fitzgerald Gatturna, 33, of 42 Bogastow Brook Rd., Holliston. Gatturna was charged with speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and drunken-driving.

6:53 a.m.: A caller from Glen Road reported vandalism to their mailbox.

7:32 a.m.: A caller from Main Street reported that their mailbox was vandalized.

8:09 a.m.: A caller reported two males who had knocked on her door and said they were there to clean her barn. The woman knew nothing of the cleaning. The men were gone when officers arrived.

8:57 a.m.: A resident of West Main Street reported overnight mailbox vandalism.

2:31 p.m.: A construction vehicle on Church Street knocked down a cable wire.

7:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of equipment operation in violation of town by-laws.

Saturday, Sept. 1

7:23 a.m.: An officer advised a contractor on Hayden Rowe Street to halt construction until 8 a.m.

8:42 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of the smell of natural gas on West Main Street at route 495.

1:36 p.m.: An officer responded to threats in the Cross Street neighborhood.

1:44 p.m.: A caller from Thayer Heights reported that her mother’s pool supplies were stolen.

3:35 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Hillcrest Drive. Officers responded and towed the vehicle after locating the owner.

5:35 p.m.: A caller from First Road reported getting a disturbing Facebook message.

5:50 p.m.: A caller reported a barking dog on East Street.

8:18 p.m.: A person reported a hit deer on the side of West Main Street. An officer responded and moved the deer of the roadway.

8:41 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a loud argument between a male and a female on Hayden Rowe Street. When officers responded they did not find the disturbance.

8:41 p.m.: The Ashland Police Department requested assistance in checking for a missing 17-year-old female.

9:17 p.m.: An officer removed two SCUBA tanks from the side of Hayden Rowe Street.

9:56 p.m.: A caller from Huckleberry Road reported a vehicle that had sped by several times. The license plate number was obtained and officers spoke to the owner.

Sunday, Sept. 2

12:21 a.m.: A caller reported loud music at Thayer Heights. Officers responded and asked the homeowners to turn it down.

1:45 a.m.: An officer issued a verbal warning to a person who was riding their longboard down the middle of Main Street.

5:27 p.m.: A store manager from Main Street reported an intoxicated female. Officers responded and took the woman in to protective custody.

6:30 p.m.: A 911 caller from Dicarlo Road reported the smell of natural gas. The  responded.

7:26 p.m.: The fire department reported a report of fireworks on Lumber Street. An officer responded and spoke with the people involved.

9:09 p.m.: A caller reported dogs running all over the roadway on Cedar Street. The gates had been opened at and several dogs had gotten loose. An officer from the department and from responded with shelter representatives.

Monday, Sept. 3

12:12 a.m.: A caller reported loud music from a house on West Main Street. Officers responded and had them turn the house down.

3:19 a.m.: An officer responded and helped the Southborough Police Department set up a perimeter after a breaking and entering.

3:59 p.m.: Officers responded to an abandoned stolen vehicle on Fruit Street near the Westborough town line.

4:59 p.m.: A resident of Davis Road went in to the and reported that his heavily intoxicated wife had just kicked him. Susan E. Costa, 47, of 66 Davis Rd. was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

7:31 p.m.: Several callers reported gunshots in the woods near Spring Street.

9:31 p.m.: An officer assisted the Fire Department with a report of a carbon monoxide alarm on Chestnut Street.
