Investigation into Shayne Desroches' Death Could Take Months

State Police are leading an investigation that could take months.

Officials are saying it could be months until the investigation into the accident that resulted in Shayne Desroches' death is complete.

“When a State Police Accident Reconstruction is involved it likely takes several months," said Stephanie Guyotte, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Marian T. Ryan who did not comment on how long this particular investigation could take. “It’s a very thorough investigative process."

State police are heading up the investigation along with Hopkinton Police and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Desroches was struck while riding his bike on Sept. 18 by a car being driven by a 16-year-old female driver.

“The cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation,” said Guyotte.
