A woman driving a sedan west on Route 16 in Milford Friday struck a utility pole, snapping it at the base, but was not injured.
The crash at 4:30 a.m. temporarily shut down Washington Street in both directions into Milford, until police and utility crews could clear the street of power lines. Holliston Police redirected traffic to Route 109.
Before the shut-down, a box truck became entangled in the wires, according to a log narrative.
A police detail remained on the scene at 8 a.m. Friday, waiting for a National Grid crew to replace the pole, which is leaning over the westbound lane.
The Milford woman driving the Mazda Protege told responding officers she was not injured. She was taken home by an officer. The car was towed.
