Police Log: Vulgar Vandalism, Assault and Battery Arrest

Wednesday, May 16

1:48 a.m.: A officer checked a vehicle parked on Saddle Hill Road.

1:50 a.m.: A caller reported a tree limb on the wires on Fruit Street. The went to the scene and NStar arrived shortly after.

9:54 a.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported that on Tuesday night his wife noticed a man standing outside the front door. The man, who was described as a white male in his 20s wearing a black and gold shirt with plaid pants, said he was looking for a bar. The man left the area when the caller confronted him.

11:17 a.m.: A loose dog was discovered on East Street in Upton, the Upton Police Department was called to respond but when they did the dog’s owners had showed up.

2:21 p.m.: A caller reported that the stop signs on Westcott Drive had male genitals drawn on them. The Department of Public Works was advised.

3:44 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on West Main Street. One of the operators complained of head pain but refused medical treatment. Both cars were towed and one driver was given a ticket for impeding operation.

3:45 p.m.: A resident from Ridge Road reported that all of her fire alarms had activated.

5:38 p.m.: A resident of Lakeshore Drive reported a person driving a dirt bike with no helmet.

7:08 p.m.: A caller reported that a person threw trash out of their car window. The caller said he honked his horn and “gave him the finger”. An officer spoke with the alleged trash-thrower who said he had just tossed a banana peel, the officer did not find any signs of littering.

11:07 p.m.: Penelope K. Gupta, 33, of 26 Spring Street, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
