Two Hopkinton Residents Charged with Drunken-Driving

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Feb. 14

12:52 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive that was parked with its door open and lights on. The owner came out while the officer was securing the vehicle.

3:22 a.m.: A gas station attendant on West Main Street reported a person passed out behind in their vehicle. An officer transported the male to his home in Holliston.

10:59 a.m.: A caller from Elm Street reported a hit and run crash.

5:30 p.m.: A caller from Main Street reported that someone had changed the deadbolt on his side door. An officer responded and took a report.

9:32 p.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a broken telephone pole on Main Street.

Friday, Feb. 15

12:48 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Grove Street and arrested Jonathan M. Carey, 23, of 1 Briar Ln. Carey was charged with drunken-driving and marked lanes violation.

6:16 p.m.: An officer assisted with a smoke alarm that was activated in a vacant unit on Walcott Street.

Saturday, Feb. 16

2:04 a.m.: An officer stopped with a suspicious vehicle on Elm Street. The officer was checking the occupants for possible narcotics violations when he was called away to assist with a car crash.

2:11 p.m.: Multiple officers from the Hopkinton Police Department were called to respond to a car that crashed on to a yard on School Street. The car was towed and Tina M. Dumais, 47, of 87 Downey St. was arrested. Dumais was charged with drunken-driving, negligent operation and operating without possession of a license. In addition Willard R. Dumais, 49, of 87 Downey St. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

5:02 a.m.: A caller from Upton reported an erratic vehicle operating at high speeds and crossing the centerline. An officer caught up to the vehicle at Price Chopper and arrested Jerrod L. Evans, 36, of 162 Providence Rd., Apt. 6, Whittensville. Evans was charged with marked lanes violation, negligent operation, second offense drunken-driving and an equipment violation.

10:04 a.m.:  car crashed into a utility pole on Winter Street. One person was transported to the Milford Regional Hospital.

6:53 p.m.: A caller from Woody Island Road reported that his neighbor’s were having a party and a vehicle was blocking his driveway. An officer was able to get in touch with the owner of the vehicle and have it moved.

Sunday, Feb. 17

1:53 a.m.: A bartender at Cornell’s requested a police escort to her car. There was a vehicle parked in the lot that had been occupied for at least 15 minutes. The vehicle was waiting for assistance with a flat tire.

9:58 a.m.: Officers responded to a rollover on the Mass Pike. A nurse had stopped and was assisting the female driver who was suffering from a head injury. The driver was transported to the hospital.

11:25 a.m.: At least one vehicle was towed after a two-car crash on Lumber Street.

12:39 p.m.: A vehicle was towed after it crashed on Frankland Road. The operator was given a written warning for operating with bald tires.

4:24 p.m.: Two cars were involved in a crash on Frankland Road.

Monday, Feb. 18

8:02 a.m.: A caller reported that snowdrifts were making Frankland Road impassible. The DPW was notified.

11:14 a.m.: An officer spoke with four tractor-trailer drivers who were parked on the side of Cedar Street.
