Verizon Imposters on Sylvan Way, Road Rage, Bag with Carcass, and More

Here's a look at the recent Hopkinton police log.

The following information was provided by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at the Hopkinton police logs for Nov. 1, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3.

Friday, Nov. 1

6:13 a.m., Legacy Farms. Caller reported what appeared to be a pickup truck crashing through a construction fence on the property. Police discovered it was actually the wind. 

8:42 a.m., North Mill Street. Caller reported a small tree down on some wires.

8:54 a.m., West Main Street. Caller said a man in a red pickup truck nearly hit her on West Main Street this morning. She beeped her horn to warn him she was there. He then pulled in front of her, slowed down, was yelling and directing obscene hand gestures at her, then finally moved back to the right lane, appeared to take a picture of her and got onto Route 495 north. 

10:35 a.m., Sylvan Way. Caller said two men said they were from Verizon and request admission to her house to "look around." Police called Verizon who said they were not aware of them and wanted to speak to them but the homeowner said they were gone. 

6:23 p.m., Wood Street. Police moved parties along at the Woodville boat ramp. 

8:46 p.m., Sylvan Way. Caller reported hearing gunshots the last two nights. Police could hear fireworks.

9:06 p.m., Knoll Road. Caller said he could hear paving equipment operating at one of the commercial buildings. Police spoke with EMC security about the situation. 

11:35 p.m., Hayden Rowe Street. Caller reported loud music nearby. Police spoke with them and they said they would turn it down. 

Saturday, Nov. 2

1:27 p.m., Main Street. Car accident with no injuries.

4:15 p.m., School Street. Fire Department received a call about a tree that is leaning very close to some wires. NSTAR was notified.

5:42 p.m., Clinton Street. Caller reported a large bag at the bird sanctuary with a carcass in it. Police did not know what was in the bag; the Highway Department will remove it. 

6:49 p.m., Hayden Rowe Street. Caller found a beagle mix dog in their yard. Owners were notified and will pick up. 

Sunday, Nov. 3

12:36 a.m., Priscilla Road. Caller reported an underage drinking party in the neighborhood. Police responded and found the house dark.

11:11 a.m., Downey Street. Caller reported an overnight hit and run to his motor vehicle. 

11:52 a.m., Wood Street. E911 caller reported odor of gas in the basement. 

4:03 p.m., Cedar Street. Caller reported a water main break. Police said there was a good amount of water flowing down the street, and the water department was notified.

5:41 p.m., Cedar Street. Cell caller reported a vehicle traveling north on Cedar Street passing the state park entrance. The vehicle was reported to be all over the road and people were throwing beer cans out the window. Caller said the car almost hit another vehicle. Driver said he followed the man to Cordaville Road in Southborough; he was told to notify Southborough Police. 

6:07 p.m., Arrowhead. E911 caller from Ashland said they just heard 8 to 9 gunshots or possibly fireworks in the area of Captain Eames Circle. Police called Ashland Police.
