20 Apply for Hopkinton Police Chief Position

The application process closed last Friday.

As it seeks to replace the outgoing police chief, the town will have many internal and external applicants to pick from, according to officials.

“We are excited about the strong interest in the position from high quality internal and external candidates from throughout the New England States. I look forward to the Committee screening the candidates and then beginning the interviews for this important hire for the community,” said Bob Levenson, Chair of the Police Chief Selection Committee in a press release.

The Police Chief position opened up when former Chief Richard Flannery retired at the end of June. The Board of Selectmen appointed Chief Chuck Wallace as Interim Chief.

The committee will review the candidates and begin the interviewing process in November, according to the release.
