Could Massachusetts Become an Early Voting State?

A constitutional convention this week includes an amendment to allow early voting in the state

This week’s constitutional convention at the state house has several proposed amendments to the state constitution, but the one that has everyone talking is a proposal to allow early voting for Massachusetts.

If approved, Massachusetts would join the more than 30 states that currently allow early voting in elections, according to an Associated Press report on Masslive.com. Early voting would allow voters to cast a ballot in person during a designated period prior to Election Day, with no excuse or justification required.

The constitutional conventions is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9.
