Five Percent Voter Turnout in Holliston, Less in Hopkinton

Voting in each town was expectedly sluggish during the morning.

The special state senate primary is today, but a low number of voters are turning up to cast their ballot.

As of noon, 519 Holliston voters voted for their party's representative in the general election.

Hopkinton's turnout was lower, with 440 voters at 1 p.m.

"We have a race on both ballots, so I don't really know why turnout has been like this,” Holliston Town Clerk Liz Greendale said comparing turnout to last year’s primaries.

Voters will be returning to the polls next month when they will be voting in the town elections.
