Hopkinton Ranked Highly in Resident Survey

Hopkinton residents pleased with town according to survey.

A survey of 1,200 Hopkinton households points to a high level of satisfaction and community engagement.

The survey, conducted by the National Research Center with 477 completed surveys, asked a number of different questions. The details of the full survey is available on the towns website, but overall 97 percent reported Hopkinton was a quality place to live. The number who would recommend living in Hopkinton would be 94 percent.

Some points that were raised as issues for respondents were places to shop, opportunities to attend cultural events and Hopkinton as a place to retire.

The survey was also used to see in what areas residents would be willing to support a budget increase. Increases for Road Maintenance would be supported by 82 percent of respondents.

In another separate question, only 66 of those surveyed said they would be very likely to support an automated curbside trash and recycling program.

The full documentation of the survey is available on the town's website.
