Postal Workers Union Endorses Spilka for Congress

The American Postal Workers Union Local 4553 voted to endorse Karen Spilka for Congress in Massachusetts' Fifth Congressional District.

Spilka is the state senator for Holliston and Hopkinton, and the majority whip for the Massachusetts Senate.

Citing their confidence that she will continue the work of Congressman Markey in fighting for the commonsense Postal Reform Legislation, the members of Local 4553 are backing her as the clear choice for working families.

“Karen understands what needs to be done to support and grow the middle class,” said President John Flattery in a press release.  "As a state legislator, Karen was always willing to fight for working families, protect the middle class and stand with organized labor. I know she will be an outstanding advocate for us in Congress and we are so proud to be announcing our endorsement.

“I am so pleased to have Local 4553’s support,” said Spilka. “Congressman Markey was a tireless fighter for working families, especially postal employees, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue this work.”
