Do you need to brush up on Massachusetts' Open Meeting Law or just want to learn more about it as a member of the public?
Attorney General's Office is conducting annual regional workshops for
municipal officials and employees, members of any public bodies and the
general public is invited to attend as well.
A workshop will be held in Danvers
at the Health Professions and Student Services Building at North Shore
Community College on Oct. 24 from 6-8 p.m. NSCC is located at 1
The workshop is free, but if you're planning to
attend, register first by calling 617-963-2925 or email
email@example.com with your name, city or town of residence, the
public body or organization you represent (if applicable) and which
location you will attend.
Prior to 2010, the Open Meeting Law was
enforced at the local level by each district attorney's office, but in
an effort to reform and maintain consistency in the law, the state
legislature repealed the existing statutes and replaced them with a
single state law enforced by the Attorney General's Office.
workshop was also held in Canton earlier this month and a third session
is scheduled for Oct. 30 (6-8 p.m.) in Worcester at Quinsigamond
Community College, Room HLC 109A&B. The address is 670 West Boylston St., Worcester.
