As spring vacation offers a break to students at Hopkinton High, lacrosse and track athletes continue to work hard.
Hillers Track and Field
Both boys and girls track teams are undefeated with records of 3-0, having defeated Holliston, Medfield, and Medway in regular-season meets.
The teams are coming off strong indoor seasons, in which the girls went undefeated and won the Tri-Valley League title.
Both teams have enjoyed tremendous success in the TVL the past few years. This spring the girls hope to reach a landmark streak of 100 meets going undefeated, and win the TVL outdoor title for the 13th year in a row.
Boys and girls lacrosse teams, although not undefeated, are looking forward to having a successful season in the Tri-Valley League as well.
The guys have started off the season 3 and 2, losing to Dover-Sherborn (one of the best teams in the league) and rival Medfield.
“We’ve got a lot of good players this year, some real good depth," senior goalie Evan Katz said "The key for us is going to be learning how to put all the puzzle pieces together.”
The girls team, under captains Brooke Rudden and Hannah Gibney, went into vacation with a 5-1 record.
Their only loss was a tough game against Medfield.
Both teams had games on Tuesday against Algonquin (Northborough and Southborough) High and both won decisively.
Thursday the boys play King Philip (Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville) High School at the Fruit Street Fields at noon. The girls play in Franklin at 6.
