Timlin Race Volunteers Thanked at UMass Medical

People involved in the Sharon Timlin Memorial 5k were given a tour at the UMASS Medical Center in Worcester where the money the volunteers raise is being put to use for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

The Shaorn Timlin Event committee hosted a thank you reception at UMass Medical in Worcester on May 16. UMass has received $1 million in donations toward ALS research. Event co-coordinator Abbie Rosenberg and ALS patient, George Mazareas spoke at the event after a tour of the facilities. Mazareas was the keynote speaker at the event and talked about his choices and perspective about living with ALS. Attending were many sponsors of the event, various town officials and many families that have been impacted by ALS. More than 80 people were in attendance to see Mazareas speak and see a video created by the Timlin Event Committee called "Why We Run".
