Rude Solicitor Annoys Residents of Daniel Shays Road

Friday, June 7 2:57 p.m.: Officers assisted a resident of Front Street who reported a break-in. 3:30 p.m.: A caller from Daniel Shays Road reported that a young male knocked on his door and said he was selling magazines. The male then asked for $800. When the caller shut the door the male kept talking. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspect. 4:23 p.m.: A caller from Daniel Shays Road reported a rude magazine solicitor. 5:09 p.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported that a very polite male stopped at her house and asked for money for inner city children. 6:41 p.m.: A caller from Palomino Drive reported a male walking around the neighborhood acting suspiciously. Callers Report Drinking at High School, Drugs at Pleasure Point

Thursday, June 6 6:54 a.m.: Officers responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Norfolk Street and Central Street. Both vehicles were towed by nobody was hospitalized. 4:25 p.m.: A caller reported an ice cream truck parked in a bad spot on Underwood Street. 7:38 p.m.: A caller from Washington Street reported that his bicycle was stolen.  A short time later the caller found the missing bike in the shed. 10:13 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle near Rockland Street and issued a citation to the driver for marijuana use and equipment violation. Friday, June 7 12:34 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Summer Street. The Holliston Police Department is seeking a summons to charge the driver with operating an unregistered vehicle and …

Hopkinton Teen Arrested on Warrant Charges of Assault, Possession of a Weapon

Wednesday, June 5 2:30 a.m.: An officer checked a suspicious vehicle parked on the loop road at Hopkins School. 4:51 a.m.: Several callers reported loose dogs in the Eastview Road and Hayden Rowe Street area. The owner recovered the dogs at 8:17 a.m. 6:42 p.m.: A caller from Hayward Street reported an earlier break-in. 7:45 p.m.: Several callers from Lincoln Street reported solicitors. Officers spoke with the solicitors and advised them to stop since they did not have permits. 8:36 p.m.: Officers arrested Matthew J. Westbury, 18, of 16 Hayden Rowe St., on warrant charges of assault and battery, possession of a dangerous weapon and violation of a restraining order. Theft - Case No.  080317 May 14, 2008 Grafton  Case Details: Grafton Police tell Mass Most Wanted they want to identify and find this man in connection with a May 14, 2008 break-in. Police said the "suspect was wearing gloves at the time of the break and entry was gained by breaking the garage window and when inside, pried the office door open where several items were stolen."       Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Grafton Police at 508-839-5343.

Lost Driver Quickens Trip to Jail Cell; Neighbor Does a Rotten Thing

In other unusual police news from the week, a raccoon was reportedly in a resident's bedroom.

I wonder if his car was moved from the visitor spot to long-term parking. An allegedly drunk driver trying to make his way home from Marlborough this week took a detour and somehow ended up in a visitor's spot in the Sudbury Police Department parking lot. (He was arrested.) This Jetta's athletic attempt at a backflip prompted a police response. Ever since I watched Herbie, The Love Bug, I have been believed cars have personalities. This Jetta, owned by a Northborough resident, is a wannabe gymnast. An entry in the May 30 Northborough police log reads that the car "flipped over" in the driveway. A short investigation revealed that the car, which had a standard transmission, rolled backward and tumbled over a stone wall onto its back. The …

Holliston Man Arrested After Crashing Into Hydrant, Car, Sign and More

Tuesday, June 4 10:23 a.m.: An officer transported a resident to court on a civil warrant charge. 4:11 p.m.: A caller reported that a red van struck a fire hydrant and a street sign on Church Street then left the area. The caller said the driver returned and caused more property damage before once again leaving. Several minutes later an officer found the vehicle on Fruit Street where the driver had it a vehicle and construction materials. Patrick D. Wheeler, 56, of 16 Fruit St., Apt 1 was arrested on charges of drunken-driving, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation, possession of an open container of alcohol, failure to wear a seatbelt and marked lanes violation. Driver Dies After Crash on Route 495 in Hopkinton

The Franklin resident was the only person involved in the crash.

Sunday afternoon Officers from the State and Hopkinton Police Departments responded to a one-car crash on Route 495 at exit 21 in Hopkinton. When emergency responders got to the scene they discovered Shawn D. Anderson, 32 of Franklin trapped in his 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlas coupe on the side of the highway. By using the Jaws of Life the Hopkinton Fire Department was able to remove Anderson from his vehicle and transport him to the Milford Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The state police are still investigating the cause of the crash, only the one vehicle was involved.
