Fire Log: Injured Cyclist Airlifted for Treatment

Fire personnel responded to a report of an injured cyclist, who was airlifted by MedFlight helicopters.

Information provided by Holliston Fire Department. Friday, April 13  10:14 a.m.: An ambulance and paramedics from Events EMS responded to a medical emergency on Cottage Drive. A resident was transported to MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham. 10:20 a.m.: A backup ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Summer Street. A resident was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center. 11:24 p.m.: An ambulance and paramedics from Events EMS responded to a medical emergency on Washington Street. Helicopters Transport Injured Cyclist

A 13 year old cyclist was airlifted after being hit by a car yesterday.

Courtesy Holliston Fire Department On Monday, April 16, the Holliston Fire Department responded to an 8:26 a.m. report of a car which had struck a bicyclist on Winter Street by Stony Brook Drive.  After a rapid assessment by members of the Holliston Fire Department and paramedics from Events EMS, the decision was made to transport the 13 year old male bicyclist to a trauma center by helicopter.  At 9 a.m., Boston MedFlight 2 landed at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland for a landing zone which had been secured by Holliston Engine 2 and the Ashland Police Department.  MedFlight departed the landing zone at 9:13 a.m. for a transport to Children’s Hospital Boston. When is MedFlight Called Into Action?

A Holliston woman was airlifted due to her serious condition on Tuesday.

When a Holliston woman needed urgent care on Tuesday, fire crews called Boston's MedFlight service, a helicopter ambulance capable of getting patients to a trauma center in under 10 minutes.  The 49 year-old woman had suffered previous injuries from a fall before she was airlifted to a Boston trauma center on Tuesday, Holliston Fire Chief Michael Cassidy said. Fire personnel who arrived at her home determined her condition was serious enough to warrant a MedFlight. A helicopter landed on Central Street to pick up the patient at one of Holliston's six predetermined landing zones.  It would take Holliston's ambulances more than 30 minutes to reach Boston's trauma center, but MedFlight can reach the same destination in a third of the time, …

Police Notes

Police Log: Injured Woman Airlifted from Central Street

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

7:36 a.m.: Police investigated a narcotics violation on Hollis Street. 8:52 a.m.: Police responded after a car struck a telephone pole on Central Street.  4:56 p.m.: A Pilgrim Road resident called police requesting an ambulance. A MedFlight flew the injured woman from a landing zone at 600 Central Street.  7:09 p.m.: A resident on cedar street called police reporting that a person was soliciting window installation. Police checked the area but could not locate the person.
