Baseball Fight Sparks Police Response
Saturday night Holliston police officers responded to an altercation between an umpire and a spectator.
It's a tale as old as time, parents get their kids involved in sports and every once in a while, when they’re watching a game, tempers flare and a fight sparks up. This is how it went down on Saturday night at one of the baseball fields on Woodland Street . The incident is said to have started during a baseball game between 14 year olds when a pitcher hit two batters in a row. According to Police Chief John Moore, the pitcher did not mean to strike the opposing team, but the umpire still felt it important to warn the pitcher. At this point the report from the incident says one of the spectators got angry about the umpires action and began to harass the official.
