One of my favorite staycation activities is borrowing a canoe from my neighbor and putting in above the Charles River spillway in South Natick. Right now there is a canoe tucked away in your neighborhood, just waiting for you to ask to borrow it. It's a great way to see Metrowest at a pace of a floating duck!   more ›

Capturing 44 percent of the vote, Holliston's Fairview at Pinecrest is the winner of this week's Readers' Choice poll and the title of "best place for Mother's Day brunch." Reader's Choice Winner: Debra's Flowers

Debra's Flowers is the winner of this week's Readers' Choice Poll.

Capturing 37% of the vote, Debra's Flowers is the winner of this week's Readers' Choice poll, which asked readers to vote on the best flower shop in the Holliston and Hopkinton area.  Specializing in arrangements for weddings and funeral services, the Central Street shop is knows for its friendly customer service, according to store owner Debra Koshivas.  "We really try to take the time to get the customer what they want without it costing an arm and a leg," owner, Koshivas said.  Be sure to check back for next week's poll where we will ask readers where the best place to take mom for Mothers' Day brunch is.

We asked readers where the best place to get coffee in town is this week.

Capturing 62 percent of the vote, Coffee Haven is the winner of this week's Readers' Choice poll and the title of "Best Coffee in Holliston." Featuring a quiet, relaxed atmosphere with bagels, muffins and pastries to go with your coffee, Holliston residents have chosen Coffee Haven as the best place to get their morning fix.  Owner Pam Farrell cites friendly customer service and a longstanding reputation in Holliston for the coffee shop's popularity.  "We've been around awhile, 15 years, which helps," Farrell said. "The team is very personable." Be sure to check back next week when we will ask where the best florist in town is.

Readers' Choice Winner: Grace Bicycles

The locally-owned bike shop, which focuses on customer service, won this week's poll by a landslide.

Capturing 90 percent of the vote, Grace Bicycles has won this week's Readers' Choice poll and the title of "best place in Holliston to buy sporting goods."  The Washington Street shop specializes in all things cycling, ranging from fitting riders with new bicycles to tuning up the old bike you found in your grandmother's garage.  Roy Cervantes, President of Grace Bicycles cited friendly customer service and a quality product as reasons for his shop's success.  "We focus on customer service and we know a lot of our customers' names.
