And though the tents filled with young men for a planned overnight vigil, this was no “occupy” movement imposing itself on a quiet community. These were the scouts of Holliston’s Troop 73, and they were here to celebrate their third annual CAMPING ON THE GREEN. Scoutmaster Mike Tyman led the scouts in a number of activities, indicating that “We started this three years ago as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of scouting. Each year it has become more popular with over fifty cub scouts and their families joining us for a full day of activities. This year’s pirate theme was used to …

Friends of the Library book sale is the place to start your day.
1.The Friends of the Hopkinton Library Book Sale is today from 10 to 4 BUT if you become a Friend of the Library for a very manageable fee of $10, or $5 for seniors and students, or $20 max for your whole family - and you can do it right while you're there - you get into the sale at 9, just like going to the front of the line at a swanky nightclub. The Book Sale is also Sunday from 11 to 2. 2. Hopkinton Cub Scout Pack 26 also has a geo-caching event and family picnic starting at 10 and going until 1 at Hopkinton State Park. I have a friend who geocaches and he has a blast! The particulars differ but all geocaching involves a kind of high-tech hide-and-seek with objects instead of people. Boys are invited to bring their parents to meet Pack…
