Faces of 9/11: Fire Chief Ken Clark

Our perspective has forever changed since the events of 9/11.

“I was at an EMC building on South Street when I received a call to come back to the station," Clark said, "I was told I needed to see what was happening in New York. We were immediately sent into a heightened state of alert."  Much has changed for our municipal officials since that day.  “We now have an added perspective on safety," Clark said. "Before 9/11, we did not take the terrorism element seriously. The events of 9/11 brought terrorism to our back door.  We felt its unwelcomed grip like nothing we, as a community, had experienced before.  In its wake new procedures have been implemented to combat its threat.
