Dozens of firefighters are on site working to extinguish a brush fire on Clinton Street.
UPDATE, 3:47 p.m.: The brush fire has reignited and is now covering 40 acres or more, equivlent to a four-alarm fire, according to scanner reports. 3:25 p.m.: Firefighters are unsure of what started a brush fire on Clinton Street on Sunday that burned more than 6 acres of wooded area. Area fire departments sent dozens of their trucks and personnel to the blaze that started around noon on Sunday. Hopkinton Fire Chief, Ken Clark, said a lack of nearby fire hydrants added a challenge to exinguishing the blaze. The area was clear of any open flames around 2:30 p.m.

Faulty heating equipment caused a fire on Oak Street in Holliston Friday afternoon.
The owners of an Oak Street home were not home when the the heating equipment in their basement caught fire Friday afternoon, Holliston Fire Chief, Michael Cassidy said. Every available ladder truck and fire engine responded to the scene to help battle the flames which one Firefighter described as "fast and furious." There were no human injuries as a result of the fire but the home's two cats were killed in the blaze, Cassidy said.

Holliston's firefighters faced police officers on Saturday in a fundraiser to benefit the Police Department's K9 fund.
On Saturday, Aug. 25, the Holliston Police Department and the Holliston Fire Department squared off in a softball game to help raise funds for the Police Department's K9 unit. Courtesy Holliston Fire Department On Monday, April 16, the Holliston Fire Department responded to an 8:26 a.m. report of a car which had struck a bicyclist on Winter Street by Stony Brook Drive. After a rapid assessment by members of the Holliston Fire Department and paramedics from Events EMS, the decision was made to transport the 13 year old male bicyclist to a trauma center by helicopter. At 9 a.m., Boston MedFlight 2 landed at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland for a landing zone which had been secured by Holliston Engine 2 and the Ashland Police Department. MedFlight departed the landing zone at 9:13 a.m. for a transport to Children’s Hospital Boston. The crash is under investigation by the Holliston Police Department. …
