Police Notes

Gunfire Heard; Animal Stuck in Car's Grill

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, April 29 7:11 a.m.: Police responded to the report of gunfire on Cross Street. The caller was concerned that a hunter was too close to their house. Police responded and found the hunter's car, but could not locate the hunter. Tuesday, April 30 2:09 a.m.: Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle on Saddle Hill Road. 8:42 a.m.: Police responded to the report of suspicious activity on Overlook Road. The caller said someone in a black hoodie sweatshirt was walking around. Upon arrival, police found landscapers. 5:04 p.m.: Police responded to the report from a woman who said an animal ran out in front of her car on Greenwood Road and was stuck in the front end grill area. Animal Control was notified and responded.

Police Log: Deer in Road, Loose Dog

Tuesday, June 26 6:58 a.m.: A resident reported a deer on the side of the road on Fiske Street. A second caller reported striking the deer, causing damage to his vehicle.  1:30 p.m.: An officer called the Highway Department to request parking barrels and horses for the carnival Wednesday night.   3:06 p.m.: Police received a 911 call after a motor vehicle crash on Grove Street.  5:04 p.m.: A resident caled police saying a motorist sped by his wife while she was walking on School Street. 6:11 p.m.: A wallet that was found on Vine Street was turned in to police. Its owner was advised.  11:00 p.m.: A caller on Prentice Street called police saying a dog is running around her yard crying. The caller could not get a description of the dog. …

Thursday, May 31 10:45 a.m.: A resident called 911 after a motor vehicle crash on Highland Street.  5:28 p.m.: Ambulances transported an injured motorcycle driver who was struck by a car on Woodland Street. 6:13 p.m.: Police recieved a report of a hit-and-run crash on Washington Street. A driver struck a bicyclist and fled the scene, but later came back. A witness told police the driver was talking on a cell phone during the crash.

Police Log: Framingham Resident Charged With Assault and Battery

Tuesday, May 29 3:27 p.m.: Police served a restraining order to a Washington Street resident.  4:55 p.m.: A sex offender was registered at the station. 7:29 p.m.: A caller reported solicitors selling children's books out of a red vehicle on Francine Drive. The vehicle had left before police arrived.  7:36 p.m.: A Wingate Road resident reported a man in an orange polo had knocked on the door of a home and took a picture of the house.  11:07 p.m.: After a domestic disturbance, police arrested Eric Mailhiot, age 26 from 25 Norman Dr. in Framingham and charged him with assault and battery.

Police Log: Attempted Murder, Assault and Battery

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, May 24 10:37 a.m.: A caller reported a car crash in the High School parking lot. 7:13 p.m.: After receiving a report of a domestic dispute, police arrested Alexander Pearson, 23 of 87 Cheryl Lane in Holliston and charged him with assault and battery.   Friday, May 25 12:44 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a large group of Medway Students hanging out of cars and driving erratically heading toward Hopkinton.    Sunday, May 27 7:25 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute and arrested Thomas Vaccaro, 84, of 354 Gorwin Drive in Holliston and charged him with attempted murder and assault and battery on a victim older than 60. Police Log: 3-Car Crash; Fireworks

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

1:47 a.m.: Police received multiple 911 calls for a car crash involving a telephone pole. NStar and Verizon were notified and arrived at the scene to repair the pole.  7:06 p.m.: Police received a call for for a minor three-car crash. There was no damage to the vehicles.  9:42 p.m.: A Bullard Street resident reported seeing fireworks coming from a neighbor's yard. Officers checked but all was quiet. 11:23 p.m.: Police removed two people fishing from the beach off Arch Street.

Tuesday, May 22 3:35 a.m.: An officer reported seeing traffic lights not working properly. Police notifed the State Highway department, who changed the traffic light's relay switch. 7:31 a.m.: Police received a report of an elderly party in a Toyota Camry stealing newspapers.  2:12 p.m.:  A caller reported seeing anti-democratic party flyers on the door of the town's Democratic Party headquarters.  2:49 p.m.: Officers delivered a tresspass notice to a parent and child on Woodland Street. 6:08 p.m.: Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Central Street.

Police Log: Phone Scam, Loose Horses

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, May 21 6:21 a.m.: A driver called police after striking a deer on Underwood Street. 11:53 a.m.: A Holly Lane resident called police after being the victim of an attempted phone scam. An unknown caller told the woman he was her grandson living in Spain, and that he needed $1,800 wired to him to help with "legal trouble." The resident realized it was a scam and denied the caller the funds. 10:55 p.m.: Police responded to a report of loose horses on Fiske Street. The horses' owner was trying to catch them when police arrived and later took control of the animals.

Friday, May 18 1:38 a.m.: An ambulance transported a driver to Milford Hospital after a motor vehicle crash. 12:44 p.m.: Police received a report that a vehicle left the scene of a car crash on Washington Street. 2:51 p.m.: Ashland police requested assistance with an armed home invasion involving three men with handguns.  4:53 p.m.: Police advised a "lonely" elderly Gorwen Drive resident to stop calling 911.  6:02 p.m.: An Adam Wheeler Lane resident reported his lawn mower was stolen.    Saturday, May 19 3:26 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash on Franklin Street. Thursday, May 18 2:40 a.m.: Police responded to a 911 call after a vehicle went off the road on Fiske Street.  12:14 p.m.: A Union Street resident called police reporting breaking and entering. 12:26 p.m.: An Erin Way resident asked police to remove his son from his home while he is at court to file a restraining order against him. The son was removed and advised. 3:53 p.m.: Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Washington Street.
