Our local weather specialist says our "next bit of winter weather" is coming Monday morning.
It ain't over yet. Jim Arnold, weather specialist with Shrewsbury Emergency Management, said it looks like our extra bit of winter weather is arriving Monday morning in the form of snow, sleet, freezing rain .... and then finally rain. "A warm front approaching from the west and southwest late tonight and tomorrow will bring a wintry mix of precipitation beginning around dawn Monday and continuing throughout much of the day," said Arnold. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, corroborating Arnold's predictions with a forecast that also calls for freezing rain and sleet. A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.
A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump more snow onto the area on Saturday. 7News meteorologists are predicting the Holliston and Hopkinton area to get between 2 to 4 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start on Saturday afternoon and spread into the early hours of Sunday. The good news is that snow removal shouldn’t be a backbreaking endeavour. CBSBoston’s Todd Gutner said the snow will be “dry and fluffy for most,” though he warned that driving could be hazardous at times on Saturday.

"Over the long term, Central Massachusetts sees a white Christmas between 6 and 7 years out of 10," said Arnold. "From a sensible weather standpoint, I do see signs of a pattern change to one of colder and stormier weather in about 10 to 14 days. That would greatly increase the chances of a white Christmas should the new pattern …
