A group of volunteers led by Vietnam veteran Bobby Blair hung signs on hundres of telephone poles in Holliston ahead of Memorial Day; one for each coalition soldier killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Panthers owned the ice on Saturday, skating past their Hopkinton opponent with speed and scoring with finesse. Coach Rick LeBlanc said he was "very proud" of the work his team did to prepare for the season, and praised the players after their victory over a tough Hopkinton team.

The Breezy Hill Farm in Holliston hosted its second annual County Fair Day on Saturday. The event was open to all and included horse shows and demonstrations, pony and hay rides and field games. There was also a live band and a meal provided by Blue Ribbon BBQ. The County Fair Day helps support Breezy Hill's Student Scholarship Program. Breezy Hill also has therapeutic riding, which allows those with limited mobility/ambulation the freedom of movement without assistive devices. Therapeutic riding at Breezy Hill Farm is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization.
Despite a late-innings comeback, the Holliston Tri-Valley Baseball League 13-year-old A team dropped a 16-15 slugfest Wednesday night.
The Holliston Tri-Valley Baseball League 13-year-old A team lost to Medway B, 16-15, Wednesday night at Medway's Idylbrook Field. Trailing by as many as six runs, Holliston rallied in the late innings to tie the game at 15 in the top of the seventh inning. But in the bottom of the seventh, Medway scored on a safety squeeze play for a walkoff win. The leadoff batter singled and stole second and moved to third on a sacrifice fly before taking home on a well-executed squeeze bunt. Holliston A heads back to Idylbrook Field Friday night at 5:30 p.m., when it plays Medway A.
It was a great day from start to finish for graduates, parents and families on Sunday afternoon.
Holliston High School held its commencement exercises Sunday afternoon in the high school field house. Principal Michael Cournoyer gave the welcoming address, encouraging the graduates to bring a little bit of Holliston with them. Superintendent Bradford Jackson then presented Assistant Superintendent Timothy Cornely with a diploma, making him an honoree graduate of the Holliston High Class of 2011. Cornely is retiring after 35 years in the district. Salutatorian Rachel Pollinger spoke about competition, saying it "brings out the best in us.” Valedictorian Anooj Patel got the audience laughing with his opening remarks, quoting an old Jerry Seinfeld line regarding the fear of public speaking being greater than the fear of death: “You’re …

Adams Middle School's musical and artistic talents were proudly on display during its Art and Jazz Night on Wednesday evening.
The Adams Middle School hosted its annual Arts and Jazz Night Wednesday evening. The Junior Jazz band and the Honors Jazz Band each performed several selections in the auditorium as part of the night's entertainment. The Junior Jazz band started there set with the "James Bond" theme, while seventh grader Mai Hartwich of the Honors Band performed a rendition of the Aretha Franklin classic "Respect." The Honors Band followed with versions of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" and The Beatles' "Hey Jude." Meanwhile, the halls were filled with student art displays, with one room set aside for a school-wide project. Working with a Far Eastern theme, students chose to build an oragami paper cranes display to lend symbolic support to the victims of the…
