Horribles Parade to March July 4

The annual Horribles Parade in Hopkinton will begin at 11:30 a.m. July 4, rain or shine.

The annual parade of floats through downtown Hopkinton, the Horribles Parade, will step off at 11:30 a.m. July 4.

as a way to celebrate the Fourth of July, and give the kids and townspeople something fun to do on that day.

The theme this year is "patriotism." No pre-registration of floats is necessary, just line up by 11:30 a.m. that day and speak to the organizer. About 15 to 20 floats are expected this year, said Dan McIntyre, the organizer.

The Fourth of July parade will begin at Hopkinton Town Common, head down Hayden Rowe Street, Pleasant Street, Grove Street, then head back to the common on Main Street.

A judging pavilion will be set up in front of Colella's Supermarket. The judging panel will decide which floats win trophies for "Most Horrible," "Best Family Float," and "Best Equestrian" entry.

The parade will last about an hour, and will step off, rain or shine.
